Writing Prompt Builder

To create a Writing Prompt...

1.  Log in to Discovery Education Streaming

2.  Click on the "Teacher Center" link near the top of the page.

3.  Select Writing Prompt Builder from the Teacher Tools

4.  Either select the "Create New" button to start your own, or begin a search through Discovery Education's selection in the Writing Prompt Library.

For an example of a completed Writing Prompt, click here to see the one I created for a 3rd grade science class about "Predators and Prey".  Type in your first and last name to participate in the activity.

Quiz Builder

Once you've made a Writing Prompt, you'll find the Quiz Builder to be just as easy.  To get started, make sure you're logged into Discovery Education Streaming, then click on the link to the Teacher Center.  From here you can double-click on the icon for the Quiz Builder.

In the Quiz Builder application you can either create a new quiz or search through the Quiz Library.  To use a quiz from the library, copy it, then add to your "My Content".  You can always open it later to make changes or edits.

Discovery Quizzes can be made with multiple choice, short answer, and even essay questions.  Multiple choice & True/False questions will be graded automatically if you choose, while written answers will appear for  review in either the Grade Book area or your email.

Assignment Builder

Need to share videos? Articles? Websites? Quizzes and Writing Prompts?  You can share all this and more by using the Discovery Education Assignment Builder.

The Assignment Builder is very similar to the Writing Prompt Builder and Quiz Builder, but with the added feature of creating a list of weblinks for students to use. And instead of linking a photo to a prompt or video to a quiz, you'll actually link one or more Writing Prompts and Quizzes to the Assignment.
